Why I Chose HawkPartners
I first heard of HawkPartners from a former colleague whom I worked with at MarketBridge, a sales and marketing consultancy. Having studied Marketing and Management and embarked on a career in marketing, HawkPartners’ focus really aligned with my skill set and interests. But what really stood out about HawkPartners (and still does) were the culture and the people. It just takes a quick perusal of the Bio section on the website to realize the caliber, diverse backgrounds, and rich collective experience of people who work here. I knew that HawkPartners would allow me invaluable exposure and the opportunity to learn from field experts. I could tell from every step of the interview process that this company was unique. I didn’t feel the typical interview anxiety I had experienced at other companies. Every conversation I had with each person, regardless of position or office, was engaging and candid. This is not your typical up-and-out company—people want to be here and plan to stay here because they recognize the firm’s uniqueness. Hearing that point echoed from almost everyone I spoke with was refreshing.
My Experiences at HawkPartners
Since starting at HawkPartners, I’ve found I really appreciate working for a small firm. From day one, I was staffed on a number of projects and was afforded a great deal of responsibility. While having this increased responsibility has been great, it also means that you have to take more ownership of your career path and ultimately you must proactively manage your own training and development. As a small firm, HawkPartners prides itself on maintaining a flat organizational structure and I really appreciate that I can be staffed on different kinds of projects across industries. Most of our work is referral based, so the emphasis really is just on creating the best end product for the client. I realize the whole “work hard, play hard” adage is a bit cliché but that’s been my experience at HawkPartners. People here have a sense of humor. Being surrounded by people who are experts but still remain humble and retain the ability to kick back on occasion makes the work all the more enjoyable.

Why I Chose HawkPartners
As is often the case with smaller firms, I found HawkPartners through a word-of-mouth referral. I already worked in the market research and consulting field, but decided that I wanted the opportunity to broaden the scope of work I was doing. While speaking to a friend and former colleague about my goals, he told me about a firm he knew, HawkPartners, which focused on data-driven analysis in problem solving but offered a greater breadth of research experiences and more focus on marketing strategy consulting than my employer at the time. HawkPartners appealed immediately. It afforded the opportunity to engage with an extremely bright and hard-working group of people from distinguished and varied backgrounds, putting me in an ideal environment to continue shaping my career, while the small size meant my work would have immediate impact and visibility to clients. Most importantly, I liked the people at HawkPartners. Company culture is important anywhere you go, but especially so when you will be working with small teams for extended periods of time. In fact, one of the recruiting criteria we use in evaluating candidates is “would you want to spend four hours at the airport with this person when your flight is (inevitably) delayed?” and we truly live by that. HawkPartners is defined by its people, and everyone in the firm prides themselves on working with a group of people that they like and respect.
My Experiences at HawkPartners
Since joining HawkPartners, my experiences have included everything from advising clients in Europe on new ways to segment their customers, to conducting interviews and moderating focus groups, to developing and fielding online surveys, to analyzing jury research. I have worked in industries such as pharmaceuticals, financial services, hospitality, professional sports, medical devices, professional services, and consumer products. While the breadth of our services – both in terms of the types of projects and the industries we serve – makes it more difficult to juggle multiple projects and makes for longer days and later nights (especially while on the road), I really value the diversity of the work I get to do at HawkPartners. Every engagement is different and provides unique challenges, yet our focus on rigorous analytics and creative problem solving has been a constant.

Why I Chose HawkPartners
I found HawkPartners through a friend. After getting my MBA at Wharton, I started working at The Boston Consulting Group while a good friend from business school joined HawkPartners. As time went on, I felt I was getting further away from my passion and b-school concentration, Marketing, and becoming increasingly specialized in Financial Services, the industry in which I worked pre-business school (in private wealth management). Meanwhile, my friend always talked about her job with genuine enthusiasm. The more I learned about HawkPartners, the more I became interested in the firm. For one, I liked the idea of working for a smaller company, one where I could feel like I had more control over my career trajectory. I was also attracted to the idea of working for a younger company, one in which everyone is involved in its development and future. Lastly, I appreciated the idea of focusing on Marketing while continuing to develop my consulting skills across a range of industries and clients.
My Experiences at HawkPartners
Since joining HawkPartners in 2008, I have been fortunate enough to work on a variety of projects across a wide range of industries. My projects have ranged from market research to marketing consulting to branding to jury consulting in industries such as pharmaceuticals, financial services, consumer packaged goods, professional services and education. One thing I truly appreciate about HawkPartners is the firm’s dedication to our clients and to its employees. While this can translate into longer work days and a significant amount of travel, HawkPartners feels like a family where the collective goals are around working hard to help our clients succeed and having fun together. The firm is committed to helping each person find the balance and flexibility they need to make this job work for them, and I believe this constant support makes HawkPartners a truly unique place to work.
